Is your church interested in partnering with HIT?

  • We ask each of our church partners to commit to generously and consistently invest in our work in three different ways:

    Prayer

We ask each of our churches to be regularly and specifically praying for the work at HIT. We will provide regular updates to your church so your church knows how to pray specifically.

    Financial Resources

The Institute is solely funded through our generous North American partners. We ask each of our partner churches to generously give to HIT on a monthly basis and be open to partnering with us on special projects or providing needed resources, such as books and supplies.

    Educational Resources

We want to include our partner churches in the educational efforts of H.I.T. We do this by inviting pastors or lay-leaders to teach classes in the institute or put on topic-specific conferences that will help equip our students in their ministries. Our leaders are available every step of the way to assist our visiting teachers as they navigate culture and language.

  • We desire for your church to be aware of the work that is happening at HIT. Therefore, we commit to provide a monthly newsletter with regular updates and stories from students, bi-annual video updates that you can share with the congregation or play in a worship service, and have a member of our team visit your church at least once every 24 months.

We also want the people of your church to benefit from the HIT. To this end, we invite each of our partner churches to send a team of individuals who will participate in a Mission as Discipleship (MAD) Trip with HIT at least once every 24 months.

  • A MAD Trip is like a short-term mission trip in many aspects. One key difference is that the primary focus is on equipping and serving the “goer”. These trips include guided readings, targeted interactions with Dominican and Haitian leaders, curated discussions/teaching, cross-cultural experiences, team-building exercises, skill specific trainings, among other things.

“There are several reasons I can enthusiastically endorse the ministry at HIT. Here are four of them:

(1)
It’s a Needed Ministry: They focus on training Haitian pastors who live in the DR in their native language (Haitian Creole).
(2)
It’s an Expanding Ministry: Not only is the ministry expanding among Creole speaking leaders, they are now training Dominican leaders in Spanish.
(3)
It’s a Gospel-Centered Ministry: The lecturers and the curriculum teach the gospel of Jesus Christ clearly, unapologeticly, but also seasoned with grace.
(4)
It’s an Efficient Ministry: The leadership of HIT is able to accomplish much with little. This does, however, make me wonder how much could be accomplished with more?”
